  1. Yes! She is. Can’t imagine why anyone would have abandoned her. She is so smart, sweet and just the right amount of protective.

  2. The way I read the first two sentences, it sounded like your daughter’s name is Stella and you picked her up from the pound.

  3. You watch that way I’ll watch this way, if it is the postman he is mine, if it is girl scout cookies we split them.

  4. That is a “keep looking buddy but if you get any closer to my kid we’re going to have a talk” kinda look. Great dog, good save.

Kinda surprised such a good looking pup would be at the pound. Any working breeds where I’m from are picked up in 48 hours or less at the local shelter. When there are any, it’s rare.

  5. This picture could not be more cute! I love your daughter’s arm around her as if they’re both protecting each other.

  6. Beautiful Anatolian! We have had five of them over the last 20 years. We originally got them for guardian dogs for our sheep, but they are so good with kids that they became guardians for their humans!

  7. Imagine going from living in a concrete cell to living with a loving family with lots of outdoor space to explore. Lucky dog! Thanks for rescuing

  8. They’re definitely about to go on an adventure full of tragedy, triumph, love, life lessons and at least one musical number.

  9. My grandparents had a farm when I was growing up with 7 big dogs. They lived far out in the country and dogs got abandoned out there and my uncle “gifted” them several. My childhood summers were amazing. People do get rid of really great doggos.

  10. My kitty Stella was also a rescue. Best cat I’ve ever had. It’s been over a year and I still miss her :(
Anyway, sorry for the sad bastard stuff! I wish you many happy years with your Stella. Beautiful name for a beautiful dog!

  11. Kangal dog. You now have secret service level protection for your daughter. Best dogs ever, I have two Siberius and Zola, welcome to the family Stella! If you’ve ever had a problem with coyotes, it is no longer a problem, your dogs tend bring them home in pieces.
