Teacup Pigs, also known as micro pigs, pocket pigs, or miniature pigs have to go down as one of the cutest little piggies I have ever seen.
These miniature pigs get their name because surprise of all surprises, they don’t grow as large as their more common piggy cousins and as piglets are so small they can fit into a teacup! In fact when you search for Teacup pigs for sale you’ll see many photos just like these!
Be warned though. Just because you might find many pictures of these teacup pigs in a teacup. These little guys don’t stay this small for ever. In fact its not unusual for these miniature pigs to grow to between 50 – 100 lbs.
This still hasn’t hindered there popularity though. Even Paris Hilton purchased one back in 2009 and when you think about it. Whats not to love.
These amazingly intelligent animals and can be house-trained, they do not shed and tend to keep themselves clean.
Micro pigs can potentially make great pets, but there are considerably more risks involved when buying a micro pig over other common pets, such as cats or dogs. The biggest concern is that, since there is no established breed of “teacup pig”, there is no guarantee that the pig sold as such will actually stay small.
If your in the market for a teacup pig. Make sure you check out the baby piglet with it’s parents first so you can get an indication of the potential future size.
