This. This is why I keep the cage doors open most of the day. I love looking over to see them shrunk back into their fancy fur coats with tiny T-Rex arms and double chin fluff.

  1. Yess rodent owners unite! We’ve got ratties ourselves, they’re also so eager for attention and curious whenever we enter the room. With rats you’ll enter the room and see two cute little tummies hanging from the bars, haha.

We’ve decided to stop keeping rats though. They die so young and have so many health complications. We just can’t deal with the stress. Will forever be a rodent lover though and when that rat cage is empty I know I’ll be tempted to fill it with one rodent or another in time (must resist!)

  2. Degus are the most fun pet I ever had, the oldest lived 7 years, we had plenty of dramas though, one day 2 of them just decided they didn’t like another one and they nearly killed him, had to get another massive cage for our exiled degu.

  3. Having had the pleasure of being pet mama to degus and chinchillas, yours are the floofiest I’ve ever seen and also thought they were chinnies! My ‘gus were but cases, but I miss their vocalisations. They were like birds!

  4. aww! I use to have a guinea pig that I left the door open for like that, so he could go in and out as he pleased. He would go back in to potty and come harrass me when he wanted snacks.
