Hows this for a cute collection of Tree Swallows shared by @jennybowlden on Instagram.
Tree swallows are migratory birds and nest in isolated pairs or loose groups. They are known as aerial insectivores as they feed on insects while being airborne. Although the tree swallows diet is mostly insects, unlike other swallows these little guys will often eat vegetable material (up to 20% of annual diet, mostly eaten in winter).
Tree swallows are small birds (about 14 cm long) with long wings and small legs and feet. They can be found in North America during spring, summer, and fall. Their nest sites are found in fields or marshes near water bodies.
